My Story
I was raised in the small town of Canton, Ga just north of Atlanta. Thanks to two textile mills, the town grew and prospered. But, in the 1980's the mills were shut down and the town was forced to modernize. I grew up in this small town not following God. I knew of Christians, but the ones I knew gave me no desire to become a Christian. Basically, I did not want God because it would put me in a position of trusting someone else beside myself.
My wife, Irish was raised in a small town north of Canton named Tate. This town is known for its abundant supply of marble. Here, Irish came to faith in Christ at the age of thirteen. Although she knew God, she did not walk in His power and might. Irish and I grew fond of each other while fishing on the banks of the Etowah River, which flows through Canton. Here, we could forget life's struggles and spend time together. We spent what little money we had on fishing supplies and enjoyed the company of each other. As our love and relationship progressed, we decided to get married. But our lives were not so happy.
Several years into the marriage, I got into some trouble with the law. I was facing a 10-year sentence with my wife and two children left on their own. Thankfully, Irish and her prayer group prayed earnestly for my salvation. And while sitting in a county jail, I met Jesus and all at once, I was spiritually set free. Four years later I was released from prison and I returned to my community and family. I joined a church and faithfully attended. I served in my church and grew under Godly men.
Times have been good and God is faithful. I have not been able to forget the other men and women and their familes who are hurting and struggling and that is why we are here to help inmates and their families. Our family's goal ever since I was set free through the power of Jesus Christ has been to be used by God to change lives for eternity.
Join our mission with your prayers. Because I'm here to tell you, they work!
We currently reside in the metro Atlanta area with our three sons: Angelo, Amario, and Titus.
